     As per instructions of 142nd APGENCO Board, the project execution was taken up in two packages namely BTG package through M/s BHEL & BOP package through M/s BGRESL. 15.12.2015 is considered as Zero date for the project.  Scheduled Completion Date is July, 2019. Energy generation is 16.32MU/day@ 85%PLF. Estimated total project cost is Rs. 7586.67 Crores.

     Unit was synchronized to grid on 11.06.2023 and COD shall be by 30.11.2023.

Commissioning Schedule

     The Government of Andhra Pradesh proposed to construct a Dam (Indira Sagar Polavaram) across the river Godavari near Ramayyapeta village of west Godavari district about 34 KM from Rajahmundry. The Central Electricity Authority (CEA) MOP, Government of India, New Delhi has accorded Techno Economic Concurrence on 21.02.2012. The cost of Indira Sagar (Polavaram) Hydro Electric Scheme including I.D.C is revised to 2015-16 PL at 4814.60 Cr and is under review of APGENCO management.

      The Principal Secretary to Govt. vide letter dt.13.04.2016 has informed that Government of Andhra Pradesh have accorded approval in principle for implementation of Indira Sagar Polavaram Hydro Electric Project (12X80MW) by APGENCO.
